There are a number of destinations in the Canadian Rockies where a bike can be used, either on a trail or along a fire road, to significantly accelerate a lengthy approach to a mountain. Make sure that you have a bike that's up to the challenge though, as descents in an alpine environment can place an incredible strain upon your suspension and braking systems. You'll also want to bring sufficient items and tools to perform minor repairs, as you could easily be faced with a long “push” back to civilization.
