Backcountry Skiing

Aside from the opportunity to ski new terrain in beautiful, isolated locations, backcountry skiing, ski mountaineering or ski touring can offer a variety of advantages over snowshoes when accessing mountainous terrain during the winter months of the year. The following locations can make for good backcountry skiing or ski touring destinations in the winter when avalanche conditions are suitable.
