Peter Lougheed

Named for a former Premier of Alberta, Peter Lougheed Provincial Park includes the entire Kananaskis Lakes area and portions of its many adjoining mountain ranges and passes. Amongst its many highlights are Chester Lake, Highwood Pass, the Northover Ridge backpacking circuit, and Smuts Pass. This is a beautiful area and one where I hope to spend a lot more time exploring in the near future.

Visit the official website for advisories, trail conditions, maps and other details about the park.
